What are the system requirements for Grout?
Grout runs on Windows 10 or later (64-bit) and on macOS 10.15 or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel. You need 8 GB of RAM and 4 GB of free disk space for the application, plus memory and space for each local AI model you download; 16 GB of RAM is comfortable for mid-sized models. There is no Linux build.
Can I use Grout offline?
Yes. Once a model is on your disk, text generation, image work, vision analysis and the canvas all run on your own machine with no connection at all. You need internet only to download Grout, to download or update models, to activate a licence, and to use the optional Nexus AI cloud module.
How do I update Grout?
Grout checks for updates when it is online, and you can check manually from the Help menu inside the application. Updating the app does not remove the models you have already downloaded.
What AI models are available offline?
Over 200 models run locally on your own machine, covering text, vision and image generation, and you choose which of them to download. The separate, optional Nexus AI module reaches 300+ models on Grout's cloud GPUs; it needs an account, a connection and Merits.
